Un nuevo cargamento de la vacuna rusa contra el coronavirus Sputnik V, con 80.000 dosis, llegó este sábado a Venezuela. El lote arribó al aeropuerto internacional Simón Bolívar, cerca de Caracas.
Según el ministro de Salud venezolano, Carlos Alvarado, este lote se incorporará al proceso de inmunización en el país «dirigido al personal de salud de primera línea y a los adultos mayores».
Las autoridades venezolana acordó con Rusia el suministro de 10 millones de vacunas Sputnik V, que serán distribuidas en un año. El primer cargamento llegó a Venezuela el pasado 13 de febrero y hasta el momento el país ha recibido 380.000 dosis del fármaco ruso.
«Para nosotros es muy importante que la vacuna Sputnik V viene a Venezuela con regularidad, que fomente el sistema de salud, que dé esperanzas y muestra nuestra solidaridad absoluta con el Gobierno y el pueblo venezolano», declaró el embajador. De su lado, Alvarado señaló que gracias a las alianzas que existen entre Venezuela y Rusia, China, Cuba y otros países, durante este año han arribado a la nación bolivariana más de 120.000 toneladas de insumos para la atención del covid-19.
