Joseph Felix Badio, la persona que presuntamente orquestó el asesinato en 2021 del presidente haitiano Jovenel Moise, fue detenido este jueves en Puerto Príncipe, según la Policía.
«Ha sido detenido», fue la palabra de confirmación del portavoz de la Policía haitiana, comisario Gary Desrosiers, sobre el arresto de Felix Badio.
Este exagente de la Unidad Anticorrupción que fue destituido por graves faltas éticas fue capturado esta tarde local en el interior de un supermercado de Pétion-ville, en Puerto Príncipe.
De acuerdo a la investigación, Felix Badío es uno de los principales sospechosos del asesinato de Moise en julio de 2021, magnicidio que supuestamente él habría planeado.
Félix Badio era buscado por la Policía Nacional de Haití, que había emitido una orden de detención en su contra.
Conforme a informaciones oficiales, Moise fue torturado y asesinado en su residencia privada del sector capitalino de Pétion-ville por un grupo de mercenarios, en su mayoría colombianos, el 7 de julio de 2021, un ataque en el que resultó herida su esposa, la primera dama Martine Moise.
El equipo habría contado con la complicidad de agentes de las unidades especializadas del Palacio Nacional encargadas de garantizar la seguridad del jefe de Estado a varios niveles.
