Las autoridades dominicanas, encabezadas por el Centro de Operaciones de Emergencias (COE), informaron que activaron las estructuras del protocolo DAN, de evaluación de daños y están a la espera de que los equipos rindan un informe.
Sin embargo, el mayor general, Juan Manuel Méndez García, director del COE, reveló que, hasta el momento no han recibido reportes de daños en el país como consecuencia de este sismo que ha dejado varias réplicas. La primera réplica, de 5.5 con una profundidad de 15.0, y que se localizó a 232 kilómetros al oeste de Jimaní, región Haití. En tanto que la segunda, con una magnitud de 4.8 y profundidad 29.4, se ubicó también al oeste de Jimaní, específicamente a 187 kilómetros.
Reveló que se organizó un comité de respuesta rápida para que en caso de que se produzca algún tipo de daño se pueda dar la respuesta oportuna.
