La tienda de artículos para el hogar, IKEA, iniciará pronto a vender energía renovable, según informa Reuters. La empresa la venderá directamente a los hogares, comenzando con el mercado interno de Suecia en septiembre.
De acuerdo a explicaciones de Ingka Group, las familias suecas podrán comprar a buenos precios la electricidad suministrada por plantas de energía solar o eólica, así como monitorear y controlar la cantidad consumida a través de una aplicación móvil especial.
Svea Solar, productor de paneles solares para las tiendas IKEA, comprará electricidad en la bolsa de valores de Nord Pool y la venderá sin cargos adicionales.
Cada casa pagará una tarifa mensual fija y un porcentaje que varía según el consumo de cada mes. Además, la energía excedente se puede revender a través de la misma aplicación.
Jonas Karlehead, jefe del departamento de sostenibilidad de IKEA en Suecia, afirmó a la agencia noticiosa que la empresa quiere que la energía renovable esté disponible para todos, y en consecuencia planea lanzar próximamente un programa similar en otros países.
