El ministro de Exteriores español, José Manuel Albares, y su par chino, Wang Yi, mantuvieron su primer encuentro por videoconferencia de una hora y media de duración, según informó la Cancillería española en una nota.
En el encuentro, Albares manifestó a su homólogo «su deseo de promover las relaciones bilaterales y reanudar la agenda común entre España y China».
En concreto, el jefe de la diplomacia española explicó detalles del Plan de Recuperación y Resiliencia con el que España aspira a transformar su economía.
En este punto Albares trasladó a su homólogo chino las altas tasas de vacunación contra el COVID-19 alcanzadas en España.
Además, se aprovechó el encuentro, que fue calificado de «fructífero» por Madrid, para tratar el 50 aniversario de las relaciones diplomáticas entre España y China, que tendrá lugar en 2023.
Se constituyeron, asimismo, los grupos de trabajo conjuntos para coordinar la celebración del Año Cultural de España en China 2023-2024.
