La Fiscalía General de México imputó a seis personas, pertenecientes a dos bandas criminales, por su presunta participación en actividades relacionadas con el tráfico de totoaba (‘Totoaba macdonaldi’), especie endémica del golfo de California, considerada en peligro crítico de extinción y protegida por la legislación ambiental mexicana, comunicó el ente este 21 de noviembre.
Los sospechosos fueron imputados por su supuesta responsabilidad en la comercialización de vejiga flotatoria de totoaba, conocida como ‘buche’, en el mercado asiático, principalmente en China, en donde es sumamente codiciado por ser considerado como un potente afrodisiaco, alcanzando precios superiores a los 8.000 dólares por kilo.
