La compañía española Repsol descartó este miércoles que se haya producido un segundo derrame de crudo cerca del Terminal Multiboyas 2 de la refinería de La Pampilla, en donde el pasado 15 de enero se vertieron unos 6.000 barriles de petróleo.
En respuesta al informe de la Dirección de Capitanías y Guardacostas del Perú (Dicapi), sobre la identificación de «una mancha oleosa» en las inmediaciones del Terminal Multiboyas 2, Repsol descartó «que se trate de un nuevo derrame de petróleo».
«Durante los trabajos que se realizaron ayer (martes) en la infraestructura ubicada a 18 metros bajo la superficie del mar, se generó un afloramiento controlado de remanentes del derrame del pasado 15 de enero», informó Repsol en un comunicado de prensa.
La petrolera explicó que el afloramiento «estaba contemplado», y por lo tanto, se instalaron en la zona «barreras de contención» y «elementos absorbentes» como parte de las medidas de seguridad.
