La Policía del condado de Polk (Florida, EE.UU.) detuvo a 60 narcotraficantes utilizando aplicaciones de citas para gays, anunció en un comunicado la Oficina del Alguacil local.
En el marco de la operación ‘Desliza hacia la izquierda para la metanfetamina’, que se inició en julio de 2021, los agentes crearon perfiles falsos en aplicaciones como Grindr, Scruff y Taimi y se comunicaron con personas que vendían metanfetamina, fentanilo, LSD, éxtasis, marihuana y cocaína en el condado.
Por medio de las charlas y las posteriores compras de droga encubiertas, los policías descubrieron que el principal objetivo de los sospechosos no era encontrar una cita en la aplicación, sino vender estupefacientes.
Como resultado de la investigación, los policías arrestaron a 60 personas y emitieron ocho órdenes de detención más. Actualmente, los agentes siguen vigilando las redes sociales y las aplicaciones de citas en busca de tratos ilegales de drogas.
«Los sospechosos son cada vez más creativos, pero nuestros detectives también. Estamos trabajando con estas empresas de aplicaciones móviles para sensibilizarlas y pedirles su colaboración durante nuestras investigaciones», afirmó el alguacil del condado de Polk, Grady Judd.
