La erupción del Volcán de Fuego en Guatemala finalizó su fase eruptiva este martes, luego de 26 horas sin causar víctimas mortales, informa la agencia EFE. La erupción había comenzado este lunes, según un reporte del Instituto Nacional de Sismología, Vulcanología, Meteorología e Hidrología del país, y alrededor de 400 personas habían sido evacuadas como medida de prevención.
En Instituto comunicó que en las últimas horas la erupción había experimentado un descenso progresivo, pero reportó que aún se mantenían de 3 a 5 retumbos débiles por hora, avalanchas débiles y moderadas que iban en disminución, material con altas temperaturas depositado en el suelo y que las cenizas y el olor a azufre permanecían en el ambiente.
