El presidente de Brasil, Jair Bolsonaro, destituyó este lunes al presidente de la estatal Petrobras, Joaquim Silva e Luna, bajo una fuerte presión por los aumentos recurrentes del precio de los combustibles, confirmó el Ministerio de Minas y Energía.
La designación deberá ser aprobada por el Consejo de Administración de la empresa estatal el próximo 13 de abril, informó el ministerio.
El jefe de Estado había nombrado a Silva e Luna, un general de la reserva del Ejército, en febrero del año pasado, disconforme también en ese entonces con los constantes aumentos de precios aplicados por la estatal.
Además, el mandatario lleva tiempo criticando la política de precios de la estatal, que ha fijado severos aumentos siguiendo el precio internacional del crudo, lo que ha fogueado la inflación, muy perjudicial para su popularidad antes de buscar la reelección en octubre.
Petrobras aplicó a principios de marzo un aumento de 18,8% al precio de la gasolina y de 24,9% al del diésel ante el “aumento mundial de los precios del petróleo y sus derivados como resultado de la guerra entre Rusia y Ucrania”.
