Los bomberos de Río de Janeiro confirmaron la muerte de al menos 9 personas entre ellos dos menores de 4 y 13 años y la desaparición de otras 12 a causa de un temporal que la madrugada de este sábado ha azotado el estado brasileño.
Las muertes se produjeron en Mesquita, en la región de Baixada Fluminense, y en las ciudades costeras de Angra dos Reis y Paraty, en medio de fuertes lluvias y deslizamientos de tierra.

Angra dos Reis es una de las ciudades más afectadas. En las últimas 48 horas el municipio registró un récord de precipitaciones: casi 700 milímetros en su parte continental y 600 milímetros en la Isla Grande. Al menos 13 personas tuvieron que abandonar sus viviendas para refugiarse en los albergues facilitados por el Ayuntamiento.
