20 personas han muerto en la última semana durante las protestas que piden la liberación del expresidente peruano Pedro Castillo, quien fue vacado por el Congreso y sustituido en el cargo por Dina Boluarte.
De acuerdo a los medios locales, las víctimas mortales se reportan en Apurímac (6), Arequipa (1), La Libertad (3), Huancavelica (1), Ayacucho (8) y Junín (1), en medio del toque de queda declarado por Boluarte en 15 provincias de ocho de los 25 departamentos del país.
La Defensora del Pueblo, Eliana Revollar, llamó a investigar las circunstancias de cada una de las muertes, ya que «en un Estado de Emergencia, el uso de las armas letales es la última opción».
«Un Estado de Emergencia no desprotege el derecho a la vida en sí», insistió tras explicar las versiones preliminares sobre las muertes acaecidas en Ayacucho, donde las Fuerzas Armadas habrían respondido con munición letal contra los manifestantes que intentaron hacer la toma de la terminal aérea.
