Con el fin de promover un estilo de vida saludable quedará prohibida la publicidad, promoción y patrocinio de cigarrillos en México, a partir del 15 de enero, de conformidad con un decreto emitido en diciembre, el cual reforma varios artículos de la Ley General para el Control del Tabaco.
Bajo la nueva disposición, los vendedores y comercios tampoco podrán exhibir, directa ni indirectamente, los productos del tabaco. En su lugar, deberán hacer una lista escrita con los nombres y precios de cada mercancía, sin incluir logotipos, marcas, ni sellos.
La reforma también establece que no se podrá fumar al interior de alojamientos ni en ningún espacio al aire libre y que las zonas destinadas para fumar dentro de establecimientos públicos deberán ubicarse en el exterior de los inmuebles.
