República Dominicana.- Con la presencia del ministro de Salud Pública, doctor Daniel Rivera, este jueves se reforzaron las acciones de detección y prevención del cólera en las comunidades de Villa Liberación y El Almirante, a fin de que los comunitarios se integren y acojan el llamado a vacunarse y mantener los cuidados preventivos contra la enfermedad.
El doctor Rivera destacó el impacto positivo de las vacunas frente a la lucha contra el cólera, que protege en un 85 por ciento contra la enfermedad por unos cinco años, por ello pidió a los residentes de estos sectores entusiasmarse a acudir y vacunarse, para protegerse y reducir el efecto de sus síntomas y complicaciones.
El titular de Salud manifestó que este jueves los equipos de repuesta y personal de Salud, arreciaron las visitas casa por casa en estas comunidades, captando pacientes con síntomas de diarrea, a quienes toman muestras para ser analizadas y definir el origen del padecimiento. Dijo que con la jornada se han visitado más de 1,300 casas y que han detectado 22 casos de diarrea.
“Hoy se está vacunando en las escuelas, tanto en Villa Liberación como también en La Zurza”, agregó el ministro durante un recorrido por el Centro de Atención Primaria de Villa Liberación.
