El pleno del Congreso de Perú ha rechazado este jueves la propuesta del partido político Perú Libre de adelantar las elecciones generales a 2023, así como de realizar un referéndum para que la ciudadanía responda si está de acuerdo con la convocatoria a una asamblea constituyente, indicó el órgano en su cuenta oficial de Twitter.
En concreto, el dictamen en minoría fue trasladado al archivo con 75 votos en contra, 48 a favor y una abstención después de unas cinco horas de debate.
La oferta, calificada como «inviable» e «inconstitucional» por la mayoría parlamentaria, planteaba que los comicios se realizaran el segundo domingo del próximo mes de julio y que ese mismo día se abriera la posibilidad de modificar la Constitución aplicando una figura no contemplada por esta.
