La dividida oposición venezolana fijó para el próximo 22 de octubre elecciones primarias con miras a definir un candidato que enfrente al presidente Nicolás Maduro en 2024, anunciaron los organizadores del proceso.
«Es nuestra fecha, la estamos tomando con la mayor certeza y con el mayor rigor», dijo a periodistas Jesús María Casal, presidente de la comisión nacional de primarias, al considerar que esa instancia «es un ejercicio de derechos».
Las elecciones presidenciales están previstas para 2024. Las fuerzas opositoras se acercan al proceso en medio de profundas fracturas, tratando de recomponerse después de la estocada que la propia oposición dio en enero al gobierno simbólico del dirigente Juan Guaidó tras cuatro años en los que vio mermado su apoyo interno e internacional.
