La Fiscalía General de la República (FGR) de El Salvador presentó una demanda civil contra Lorena Peña -exdiputada, exguerrillera y expresidenta del Parlamento- y su hija, por supuesto enriquecimiento ilícito, según informó la institución.
De acuerdo con el Ministerio Público, Peña, excongresista por el ahora partido opositor Frente Farabundo Martí para la Liberación Nacional (FMLN, izquierda), y su hija «son acusadas de enriquecerse con 277.482.54 dólares del Estado».
Las investigaciones, según la fuente, «revelaron 17 anomalías en las declaraciones patrimoniales de Lorena Peña y su hija, las cuales no pudieron justificar». La entidad señaló que «las irregularidades en el patrimonio de Lorena Peña fueron ubicadas durante su período como diputada entre el 1 de mayo de 2012 y el 30 de abril de 2018».
En el caso de su hija, la FGR «la acusa por 8 irregularidades encontradas en pagos de depósitos bancarios en efectivo y el pago de tarjetas de crédito, haciendo un total de 136.960,94 dólares».
