La oposición boliviana anunció este sábado movilizaciones contra la sentencia a la ex presidenta interina de Bolivia Jeanine Añez, condenada el viernes a 10 años de prisión por tomar el mando irregularmente tras la renuncia de Evo Morales, que calificó la pena como «benigna».
«A partir de la próxima semana, iremos generando movilizaciones», aseguró el opositor Manuel Morales, del Comité Nacional de Defensa de la Democracia (Conade).
El expresidente Morales (2006-2019), por su parte, dijo en Twitter que «10 años de cárcel es una pena benigna en relación al daño que causaron a la democracia».
La familia de Áñez llamó «cobarde» al expresidente izquierdista y anunció que apelará el fallo.
«Es una sentencia política. No va a cambiar nada porque mi madre va a seguir siendo una presa política», lamentó Carolina Ribera, hija de la exmandataria derechista.
Un tribunal de La Paz halló culpable a Áñez la noche del viernes de los delitos de incumplimiento de deberes y resoluciones contrarias a la Constitución.
Áñez, que cumplirá 55 años el lunes, completará la pena en la cárcel de mujeres de La Paz donde ha estado en prisión preventiva los últimos 15 meses. Además, tendrá que pagar un monto aún no especificado por daños al Estado.
En su alegato final, Añez se había declarado inocente, señalando que el Tribunal «excluyó» pruebas que descartaban un derrocamiento de Morales en 2019, y anunció que acudiría a la justicia internacional.
