La compañía alemana Steag GmbH informó que ha cerrado esta semana su central eléctrica de Bergkamen-A, en el oeste del país europeo, debido a la escasez de carbón.
Según Daniel Muhlenfeld, el portavoz de Steag, la firma se enfrenta tanto a la escasez de materias primas como a los problemas logísticos. «Hay una fuerte demanda de carbón ‘per se’ y, en segundo lugar, hay una fuerte demanda de transporte por barcaza. Y como Bergkamen no tiene conexión ferroviaria, aquí no hay alternativas logísticas», destacó Muhlenfeld.
