Un día como hoy, 6 de diciembre de 1824, nació Concepción Bona en Santo Domingo. Fue una educadora y patriota dominicana quien, junto a las también patriotas María Trinidad Sánchez, Isabel Sosa y María de Jesús Pina, con la idea y diseño de Juan Pablo Duarte, confeccionaron la primera bandera dominicana, única en el mundo que tiene una biblia abierta en su escudo.
La bandera nacional es el símbolo patrio por excelencia de toda nación. En ella se resume su historia, geografía, política, cultura y religión.
