Hoy, 21 de marzo, es el Día Internacional de los Bosques, establecido por la ONU en el 2012 con el objetivo de: “crear conciencia de la importancia de cuidar y preservar todas las áreas forestales del planeta y con ello la supervivencia de todas las especies”.
En la República Dominicana, en los últimos 100 años, partiendo del estudio realizado por William Davis Durland, en 1922, y el informe del Ministerio de Medio Ambiente, en 2021, la cobertura forestal bajó de 75% a 43%; hay que actuar, ya.
