La celebración del Día de la Biblia tiene diferentes motivaciones: los católicos lo celebran el 30 de septiembre, porque es el Día de San Jerónimo, traductor de la Biblia al latín; los evangélicos lo celebran el 26 de septiembre, porque el 26 de septiembre de 1569 se terminó de imprimir la primera Biblia en español, realizada por Casiodoro de Reina y corregida por Cipriano de Valera en 1602, que originó la Biblia Reina-Valera.
