Estados Unidos, Canadá, Australia, Japón, Corea del Sur, Israel, Reino Unido, Dinamarca, Noruega, República Checa, Estonia, Letonia, Lituania y Eslovenia, emitieron un comunicado conjunto sobre el estudio en el que transmitieron sus «preocupaciones compartidas» sobre el hecho de que la debida investigación sobre la pandemia, por parte de los expertos de la empresa, fue «retrasada considerablemente» y que les «faltó acceso a las muestras y los datos completos y originales».
China no aceptó las declaraciones del director general de la OMS sobre la supuesta falta de acceso a datos que presuntamente habría obstaculizado el trabajo del equipo que investigó los orígenes del nuevo coronavirus en Wuhan.
Este miércoles, mediante una rueda de prensa, el corresponsable del estudio conjunto de China y la OMS, Liang Wannian, aseguró que tanto los expertos locales como extranjeros habían utilizado las mismas bases de datos.
Expresó sobre el trabajo que se desarrolló entre el 14 de enero y el 10 de febrero de este año y dijo que conforme a la ley china, no se pueden llevar ni fotografiar algunos datos, pero cuando los estábamos analizando en Wuhan, todos podían ver la base de datos y los materiales, lo hacíamos conjuntamente.
El director también desmintió que el informe sobre el estudio hubiera sido retrasado deliberadamente, insistiendo en que las demoras se habían debido simplemente a la necesidad de verificar cada frase.
Liang afirmó que todo el tiempo nos regimos por el principio de que la calidad va primero.
