República Dominicana. – El Director General de Migración, Venancio Alcántara, informó que existe una investigación en curso en el Centro Vacacional de Haina, a fin de determinar si existen irregularidades en ese lugar de acopio para indocumentados, en su mayoría nacionales haitianos ilegales.
Alcántara, precisó que el centro fue intervenido hace varios días y advirtió que quien o quienes resulten implicados en acciones de anomalías serán transferidos a la justicia ordinaria sin contemplación y sin importar de quien se trate, a la vez reiteró que continuará haciendo cumplir las normas y las leyes migratorias en el país.
Dijo «Hemos instruido una investigación pormenorizada sobre presuntas irregularidades en el Centro Vacacional de Haina y quiero dejar bien claro al personal que labora allí, de determinarse su implicación en estas acciones reñidas con la ley, serán drásticamente sancionados conforme lo establece la ley» advirtió Alcántara.
Indicó que quien incurre en la liberación de un extranjero ilegal por paga o cobro de «Peaje» está inobservando la ley 285-04 de Migración y comete el delito de corrupción, lo que según explicó, no tolerará bajo ninguna circunstancia.
El titular de Migración, Venancio Alcántara, reiteró que a los agentes de la institución se le instruye dar fiel cumplimiento a los protocolos de lugar, a fin de depurar si estos deben ser o no retenidos por las autoridades, lo que garantiza preservar el derecho de libre tránsito y el respeto a los derechos humanos.
Garantizó que los resultados de las investigaciones se darán a conocer oportunamente y concluyó en que no permitirá maltratos ni discriminación contra ningún migrante, sin importar la nacionalidad de que se trate, al recordar que el gobierno dominicano que encabeza el presidente Luis Abinader, es y siempre será respetuoso de los derechos fundamentales.
