Las Fuerzas Armadas de Ecuador, el SNAI (Servicio Nacional de Atención Integral a Personas Adultas Privadas de la Libertad y a Adolescentes Infractores) y la Policía allanaron este sábado el Centro de Rehabilitación Social Guayas número 4, más conocido como cárcel Regional, en el marco de las investigaciones por el asesinato del candidato presidencial Fernando Villavicencio.
En esa prisión se encuentra recluido Adolfo Macías, alias “Fito”, líder de la banda Los Choneros, que tenía amenazado al político asesinado.
En imágenes compartidas por las fuerzas, se lo ve a “Fito”, entre otros reclusos, mientras es sometido a una requisa en el patio del penal. El medio citado consignó que los militares lo sacaron de su celda con las manos en la cabeza y que fue traslado a La Roca, que está atrás de la Regional, y fue habilitada hace casi un año y medio para los reos de máxima peligrosidad.
El operativo se realizó en el marco del estado de excepción que rige para el sistema carcelario del país. Trabajan alrededor de 2.000 militares e igual número de policías.
