Paulson de la Universidad de Harvard han desarrollado un nuevo tipo de exoesqueleto robótico que puede calibrarse para una persona concreta y adaptarse a diferentes condiciones de marcha en el mundo real en apenas cuestión de segundos.
El sistema utiliza ultrasonidos para leer los movimientos de los músculos con el fin de crear un perfil más personalizado. Esta se realiza continuamente en tiempo real lo que permite una forma muy realista para caminar, cuando el esqueleto fue probado en situaciones reales fue capaz de adaptarse perfectamente a los cambios de velocidad e inclinación a la hora de caminar.
