La Policía de Nueva York desmanteló una banda que se dedicaba a robar vehículos, la mayoría de la marca Honda y del año, los cuales eran enviados en su mayoría a la República Dominicana, según informaron las autoridades.
En el operativo realizado en el Bronx fueron apresados nueve personas y recuperadas 12 yipetas de la marca Honda CR-V. Estos vehículos en su mayoría eran robados en Washington Heights y de ahí llevados a varios estacionamientos en el Bronx, antes de ser embarcados a Republica Dominicana.
El teniente de la Policia de Nueva York, Jorge Rodrígue informo, que la investigación comenzó en junio de 2019 cuando se dieron cuenta que estaban robando muchos vehículos, “específicamente Hondas, del año, se estaban desapareciendo y estaban terminando en el Bronx”.
Jorge Rodríguez informó que los delincuentes entraban a los autos y a través de una computadora les reprogramaban las llaves y así se los robaban.
“Tenían una computadora para programar las llaves y cuando programaban esas llaves, ahí podían prender el vehículo y llevárselo. Usamos cámaras, teléfonos, mucha tecnología nueva para poder identificar estos individuos que hoy pudimos arrestar”, dijo el oficial de Policía.
