El presidente de la República Dominicana, Luis Abinader participará este lunes en el acto de rendición de honores a la Virgen de la Altagracia, protectora y madre espiritual del pueblo dominicano.
Esta actividad se llevará a cabo en la Puerta del Conde, lugar donde la Virgen fue coronada por primera vez el 15 de agosto de 1922, informó la Dirección de Prensa del Presidente.

En ese mismo orden, el mandatario recibirá a las 5:00 de la tarde la visita del monseñor Edgar Peña Parra, enviado por el Papa Francisco a la clausura del centenario de la coronación canónica de Nuestra Señora de la Altagracia.
Este lunes 15 de agosto fue declarado por decreto “Día de Regocijo Popular”.
