El presidente de la República Dominicana, Luis Abinader, informó este martes que las alcaldías de las zonas afectadas por el huracán Fiona recibirán este jueves fondos especiales para hacer frente a la situación.
Abinader explicó en una rueda de prensa en el municipio de Higüey, provincia de La Altagracia, es una de las zonas más afectadas por el impacto de Fiona.
En ese municipio se instaló hoy un centro de operaciones especiales para atender las necesidades de las zonas, precisó Abinader, quien indicó que el principal problema es el eléctrico, que también afecta al suministro del agua potable.
El jefe de Estado dijo que se tardará unos cinco días en evaluar los daños totales causados por Fiona.
Tras su visita a La Altagracia, el mandatario se trasladará a El Seibo y Hato Mayor, mientras que el resto de la semana viajará a las demás provincias afectadas.
