El Gobierno provincial de Punjab en Pakistán ha recurrido a medidas más estrictas al ver el poco interes y la baja participación de sus habitantes para vacunarse contra el coronavirus. En consecuencia, aquellos que no estén vacunados tendrán los teléfonos deshabilitados.
Tras una reunión de altos funcionarios civiles y militares presidida por el ministro de Salud de Punjab, Yasmin Rashid, las autoridades anunciaron que las tarjetas SIM de aquellas personas que no se vacunen serán bloqueadas.
Además de bloquear las SIM de los pakistaníes no vacunados, el Gobierno provincial contempla también prohibir a estas personas el ingreso a parques, restaurantes y centros comerciales.
«Estamos haciendo todo lo posible para obligar a las personas a vacunarse (…) El Gobierno no puede permitir que las personas que no quieren vacunarse arriesguen la vida de quienes ya están vacunados», señaló el ministro de Salud Yasmin Rashid.
