República Dominicana.- Este viernes entró en funcionamiento la nueva estrategia de patrullaje policial por cuadrantes para mayor control y supervisión de los servicios y mejorar la confianza y protección de la ciudadanía.
El patrullaje por cuadrantes es una técnica que consiste en pequeñas delimitaciones geográficas de un sector fijo, al que se le asigna un personal para optimizar y eficientizar la prevención y disuasión del delito.
La estrategia comienza con 504 hombres, 18 en cada uno de los 84 cuadrantes, en tres turnos; 33 camionetas, 84 motocicletas, 33 car kits, 504 body cams (cámara de cuerpo), 117 radios de comunicación y 117 celulares. Cada vez que sea necesario, se contará con el servicio de la Unidad de Drones, formado por 19 aeronaves y 42 pilotos.
El acto de inicio de esta nueva estrategia tuvo lugar en el estacionamiento de la Torre Banreservas, en la avenida Winston Churchill de Santo Domingo, y contó con la presencia del ministro de Interior y Policía, Jesús Vásquez Martínez; el director de la Policía, mayor general Eduardo Alberto Then, y el comisionado para la reforma policial, José Vila del Castillo.
