El Departamento de Salud del Gobierno de Cataluña ha confirmado los primeros casos en su territorio de ‘flurona’, la infección simultánea de coronavirus y gripe. Según la directora del Servicio catalán de la Salud, Gemma Craywinckel, se trata de «casos anecdóticos y sin más relevancia».
Los expertos ya habían detectado que el nuevo coronavirus puede infectar a la vez que otros virus respiratorios, han llamado a la calma y mantienen que una doble infección no tiene por qué traducirse en una mayor gravedad de la enfermedad.
La noticia, que las autoridades catalanas han comunicado en rueda de prensa, llega muy poco después de que este fin de semana fuera Israel el país que notificara los primeros casos de flurona.
Según Craywinckel, los detectados ahora son cuadros «leves, con poca relevancia», que se circunscriben en la normalidad por la «coexistencia de dos virus circulantes» y que no cambian el escenario general del sistema sanitario catalán, que ha definido como «crítico».
La responsable de Salud ha informado de que los hospitales de la región se encuentran bastante llenos, aunque «no saturados». Además, alrededor de 2.500 profesionales sanitarios se encuentran de baja por la infección de coronavirus.
