El expresidente de EE.UU., Bill Clinton, de 75 años, fue hospitalizado este martes en el Centro Médico de la ciudad de Irvine (California), según ha confirmado este jueves su portavoz Angel Ureña.
«El martes por la noche, el [ex] presidente Clinton fue ingresado en el Centro Médico UCI para recibir tratamiento por una infección no relacionada con el coronavirus. Se está recuperando, está de buen humor y está increíblemente agradecido con los médicos, las enfermeras y el personal que le proporcionan una atención excelente», reza el comunicado del vocero del exmandatario.
Por su parte, CNN precisa que la causa del ingreso al hospital del exmandatario se debe a una presunta infección de sangre. El exinquilino de la Casa Blanca no mantiene respiración asistida y su enfermedad tampoco está vinculada con problemas cardíacos previos.
Además, en una declaración conjunta por parte de los doctores Alpesh Amin y Lisa Bardack, a cargo del cuidado de su salud, se detalla que Clinton permanece en el establecimiento médico para «monitoreo continuo».
