La Comisión de Ética del Congreso de Perú aprobó ayer lunes abrir una investigación preliminar contra 17 legisladores, cuyos despachos y residencias fueron allanados el pasado viernes, como parte de una investigación por presuntamente favorecer al destituido y encarcelado expresidente Pedro Castillo, a cambio de la adjudicación de contratos y licitaciones.
La medida obtuvo el aval de una mayoría de congresistas de la comisión (9 votos a favor y dos abstenciones). La Fiscalía estudia una presunta organización criminal, en la que los parlamentarios de varios partidos, apodados ‘Los niños’, habrían votado en su momento en contra de una moción de vacancia contra Castillo quien terminó siendo destituido y encarcelado a cambio de beneficios.
«Todos estos hechos han generado un evidente daño en la imagen del Parlamento porque es un hecho sin precedentes que desprestigia la institucionalidad», indicó la presidenta de la comisión, Karol Paredes.
