República Dominicana.- El presidente del partido Fuerza del Pueblo, Leonel Fernández, acusó al gobierno del PRM de gobernar solo para los ricos, olvidando los orígenes históricos de esa organización.
“Uno consideraría que estando la corriente del PRD, hoy PRM, en el poder, habría hecho un mayor reconocimiento de la estatura histórica de José Francisco Peña Gómez; pero en este gobierno del PRM se han olvidado de la figura de José Francisco Peña Gómez”, dijo Fernández.
Fernández aseguró que el partido de gobierno se ha olvidado de Peña Gómez, “por una razón fundamental, porque este gobierno no cree en los valores, en las convicciones que llevaron a la lucha democrática de José Francisco Peña Gómez”.
“Peña Gómez siempre fue un líder de los pobres en la República Dominicana, pero este es un gobierno de lo ricos y por esa razón se olvidan del nombre de José Francisco Peña Gómez”, continuó diciendo el candidato presidencial oficial del BIS y otros partidos aliados.
El aspirante a la presidencia de la República habló en estos términos en la Convención Nacional del Bloque Institucional Social Demócrata (BIS), partido fundado por Peña Gómez y liderado por su hijo José Francisco Peña Guaba.
En el escenario, Fernández dijo ver cómo los reformistas no olvidan a Joaquín Balaguer. “Los reformistas se sienten balagueristas”, puntualizó; de igual manera, recordó que en su momento, “en el PLD reverenciamos el nombre de Juan Bosch”. Señaló que desde el gobierno a varias obras le fue colocado su nombre, porque sin él no hubiesen llegado al poder, él fue que abrió el camino.
“Este gobierno ha olvidado a José Francisco Peña Gómez, sin cuyo esfuerzo, sin cuya tenasida y talento, esa corriente política jamás habría llegado a subir las escalinatas del Palacio Nacional”, precisó Leonel Fernández.
En su discurso ante los delegados de la Convención del BIS, Fernández puso como ejemplo que el PRM no gobierna para los pobres, que los hospitales donde asisten los pobres, “están repletos, desbordados. Varios niños en una misma cama”, según dijo, ante la mirada indiferente de las autoridades.
Para poner en evidencia la indiferencia gubernamental, Leonel Fernández recordó que recientemente periodistas le preguntaron al presidente de la República sobre la situación del dengue y “dijo que todo estaba bien, que todo estaba en calma”.
