Enesto Araújo, ministro de Exteriores de Brasil, presentó este lunes, su renuncia luego de las presiones por su gestión durante la pandemia.
La renuncia es presentada luego de fuertes prejuicios por parte de diputados y diplomáticos brasileños. Los senadores, Alessandro Vieira y Randolfe Rodrigues, tenían previsto presentar este mismo lunes ante el Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF) un pedido de ‘impeachment’ contra Araújo.
El ministro fue cuestionado por la gestión de la compra de vacunas contra el covid-19, que ya ha dejado 312.206 muertos y más de 12,5 millones de casos en el país y que, con un récord diarios de fallecidos, se enfrenta a una posible escasez de alimentos y el colapso sanitario en muchos de los estados.
También ha sido criticado por su política en el exterior, marcada por una estrecha relación con Estados Unidos mediante la presidencia de Donald Trump y las confrontaciones con importantes socios comerciales, como China, principal destino de exportaciones brasileñas, y el mayor productor de suministros de vacunas del mundo.
