Haitianos fueron atacados este domingo por una multitud de personas y quemadas sus viviendas luego que se sospecha que los extranjeros mataron a un hacendado y dos de sus empleados en un hecho ocurrido en el sector Rancho Manuel, distrito Estero Hondo, municipio La Isabela, en la provincia Puerto Plata.
Los cuerpos fueran hallados sin vida y con signos de violencia y heridas de arma blanca.
El hacendado, identificado como Juan José Soto Cornier de 72 años de edad, es tío del exsecretario de las Fuerzas Armadas de la República Dominicana, José Miguel Soto Jiménez, quien en su cuenta de twitter escribió: «El informe preliminar sobre el asesinato de mi tío, denuncian que fueron haitianos los que lo ultimaron, no tengo otros detalles, pero estoy viajando hacia el sitio para informarme».
Además de Soto Cornier, propietario de la Hacienda «Josefina», fueron asesinados sus dos empleados Gilberto Antonio Basilio, 63 años y una mujer que aún no ha sido identificada por su nombre, pero se dice que era una arquitecta comadre del hacendado y estaba realizando trabajos de remodelación de la vivienda.
