República Dominicana.- La Procuraduría Especializada para la Protección del Medio Ambiente y los Recursos Naturales (Proedemaren) ordenó la paralización de las operaciones del proyecto turístico Blu Terrenas en la provincia Samaná.
De acuerdo al Proedemaren, la empresa DACC EVVESTMENT BLU, S.R.L., que construye el proyecto turístico sin los debidos permisos ambientales, realizó excavaciones y cortes de árboles, afectando los humedales en la zona y el manto freático.
Amparada en una orden de allanamiento y por denuncias recibidas de sectores preocupados por el medio ambiente, la Proedemaren intervino las instalaciones de este proyecto turístico, nombrado Blu Terrenas, donde se encuentran, además, instaladas una planta de trituración y proceso de materiales, así como una hormigonera, las cuales tampoco cuentan con los debidos permisos.
La empresa intervenida por la Proedemaren está representada por Vencenzo Odoguardi, el cual fue formalmente citado a los fines de que responda por las violaciones ambientales contenidas en los artículos 8, 40, 174, 175.1 y 183 de la Ley 64-00 sobre el Medio Ambiente y los Recursos Naturales, además de los artículos 66.2 y 67.1 de la Constitución de la República Dominicana.
La Proedemaren, mediante acta de inspección de fecha 7 de septiembre de 2023, ordenó la paralización de los trabajos en virtud de lo que dicta la Ley 64-00 sobre el Medio Ambiente y los Recursos Naturales.
