La Policía del estado nigeriano de Ondo rescató a 77 personas presuntamente secuestradas en la iglesia The Whole Bible Deliverance Church. Las víctimas habrían sido persuadidas desde hace meses por los pastores a esperar en el templo el regreso de Jesucristo a la Tierra, informan medios locales.
«En total eran 77 miembros, entre los que había 26 niños, ocho adolescentes y 43 adultos. Todos ellos fueron rescatados de la iglesia», informó Funmilayo Odunlami, portavoz de la Policía.

De acuerdo a las investigaciones preliminares, el pastor Josiah Peter Asumosa convenció a los feligreses de que la abducción divina tendría lugar en abril; sin embargo, más tarde anunció que ocurriría en septiembre.
