Un día como hoy, 16 de marzo de 1892 nació, César Abraham Vallejo Mendoza, en Santiago de Chuco, Perú. Fue un destacado escritor y periodista peruano que abarcó prácticamente todos los géneros literarios, siendo la poesía el género que lo inmortalizó.
César Vallejo está entre los mayores innovadores de la poesía del siglo XX. A juicio del escritor y crítico literario británico Martin Roger Seymour-Smith, Vallejo es “el más grande poeta del siglo XX en todos los idiomas”. Entre sus obras más importantes están: Los heraldos negros y Poemas humanos.
