Un día como hoy, 1 de febrero de 1919, Konrad Adenauer, líder histórico y político alemán, en su rol de alcalde de Colonia, Alemania, proyectó la fundación de la República Alemana Occidental. Sus ideales y acciones para crear una Alemania democrática y fuerte, en el marco de una Europa unida, fuerte y solidaria, le merecieron el título de “Padre de la Unión Europa”.
Konrad Adenauer lideró a su país, desde las ruinas en que la dejó la Segunda Guerra Mundial, hasta convertirla en una nación poderosa y próspera que, luego de la reunificación con la caída del Muro de Berlín, se abrió al mundo con un espíritu de solidaridad y colaboración, en una lógica de ganar ganar.
Termino esta nota con un pensamiento de Konrad Adenauer: “Hay que tomar a las personas como son, no existen otras”.
