El Centro de Operaciones de Emergencias (COE) de la República Dominicana concluyó la primera fase del Operativo Navideño “Conciencia por la Vida 2021-2022” con 14 víctimas mortales, de las cuales cinco fueron dentro del dispositivo de seguridad vial, así como unas 402 personas intoxicadas por alcohol o alimentos.
Durante el tercer boletín, el Director General de la entidad, Juan Manuel Méndez, detalló que las muertes fueron en accidentes de tránsito, que en su totalidad sumaron 122.
De la cifra de incidentes en las vías, 87 involucraron motocicletas, 17 estuvieron relacionados con vehículos livianos, 13 atropellamientos, cuatro vehículos pesados y un autobús.
En cuanto a las intoxicaciones, Méndez reveló que 101 fueron alimentarias y 301 por alcohol, de estas últimas, se identificaron a 18 menores con edades comprendidas entre 12 y 17 años.
