Por sus aportes al fortalecimiento del sistema educativo militar dominicano en el nivel superior y al patrimonio cultural de la nación, el Ministerio de Defensa, a través del Instituto Superior para la Defensa “General Juan Pablo Duarte y Diez” (INSUDE), concedió los títulos de doctor honoris causa en Ciencias Militares, a los mayores generales José Miguel Soto Jiménez y José Eliseo Noble Espejo.
Los pergaminos e insignias militares fueron entregados en un acto en el Auditorio “General de División José Antonio Salcedo”, en nombre del ministro de Defensa, teniente general Carlos Luciano Díaz Morfa, ERD, y por el general de Brigada Francisco Ovalle Pichardo, ERD, rector del INSUDE.
La distinción está contemplada en la segunda resolución del Consejo de Directores del 23 de marzo 2022, que reconoce a los galardonados por sus contribuciones en el transcurso de “sus brillantes carreras militares y académicas”.
Al acto asistieron pasados ministros de Defensa y miembros del Consejo de Directores del INSUDE. En la emotiva ceremonia hubo un “Toque de silencio”, ejecutado por un trompetista del Ejército, para honrar a Noble Espejo, E.N.
Las autoridades militares entregaron la titulación póstuma a su viuda, Rosario Jiménez.
