Investigadores del Centro Nacional de Investigación de Epidemiología y Microbiología Gamaleya de Moscú, lugar donde fue creada y se registró la primera vacuna contra el COVID-19, Sputnik V, están desarrollando una nueva vacuna anticovid en forma de gotas nasales que no tendrá efectos secundarios como fiebre o dolor de cabeza.
Mediante una entrevista con RIA Novosti el director del centro, Alexánder Guíntsburg, el fármaco nasal no producirá «esos fenómenos indeseables que aparecen ahora en forma del dolor de cabeza o posibles subidas de temperatura». Detalló que este tipo de vacuna es «de uso local» y por lo tanto «no ocasiona reacciones sistémicas en forma de fiebre».
Guíntsburg adelantó que el Centro Gamaleya también ha desarrollado un mecanismo de renovación de la vacuna para adecuarla a las nuevas y futuras cepas. Añadió que ofrece el mismo efecto protector, pero ya contra una nueva cepa, se podrá lanzar de inmediato la producción en serie.
