El Ministerio de Asuntos Exteriores ruso comunicó este lunes que Moscú ha impuesto sanciones personales a 43 ciudadanos canadienses en respuesta a las medidas restrictivas anunciadas el pasado mes de mayo por Ottawa.
«Dado que el régimen gobernante de Justin Trudeau en Canadá persigue obstinadamente un curso de rusofobia militante, la parte rusa se reserva el derecho a tomar contramedidas en respuesta a las acciones abiertamente hostiles de Ottawa», reza el comunicado.
La Cancillería detalló que a las personas sancionadas «se les ha prohibido permanentemente» entrar en el territorio del país euroasiático. Se trata de funcionarios federales y regionales, miembros del gobernante Partido Liberal y personalidades públicas de Canadá.
Entre otros, la lista incluye a Suzanne Cowan, presidenta del Partido Liberal; Marjorie Michel, jefa adjunta del Gabinete del primer ministro Trudeau; James Armbruster, asistente especial del primer ministro; y David Collenette, exministro de Transporte.
