El presidente de Serbia anunció el sábado la cancelación del festival LGTB Europride en Belgrado, achacando la decisión a la «difícil crisis» en Kosovo, pero los organizadores afirmaron que la manifestación se celebrará como estaba previsto.
El Europride debía celebrarse entre el 12 y 18 de septiembre en la capital serbia, con una semana de eventos, festividades y una marcha del orgullo programada para el penúltimo día.
Esta gran manifestación paneuropea se organiza cada año desde 1992 en una ciudad distinta del continente desde su primera edición en Londres.
«Simplemente, hay veces en que no se puede gestionar todo. En otra ocasión, en momentos más propicios» ocurrirá, explicó el presidente Aleksandar Vucic en rueda de prensa, señalando que el país atraviesa «todo tipo de problemas».
El mandatario serbio dijo que la decisión fue tomada «en acuerdo con la mayoría de los miembros de gobierno y con la primera ministra» y agregó que la marcha «será aplazada o anulada».
