Ucrania prohibió a los barcos que navegan bajo bandera rusa entrar en sus aguas interiores, según una nueva ley que entró en vigor este sábado, 1 de enero.
De acuerdo con el texto de la ley Sobre el transporte de navegación interior, «se prohíbe entrar en las vías de navegación interior de Ucrania a las naves que navegan bajo bandera» de Rusia.
La prohibición se aplica también a los barcos que pertenecen a ciudadanos rusos o «agentes económicos registrados en el territorio» de Rusia, o «a personas físicas o jurídicas sujetas a sanciones económicas especiales u otras medidas restrictivas [sanciones] en virtud de la Ley de Ucrania Sobre sanciones».
Las relaciones entre Moscú y Kiev comenzaron a deteriorarse tras la llamada revolución naranja, que se produjo en Ucrania en 2004. El presidente de entonces de ese país, Víctor Yúshchenko, dio un viraje hacia la incorporación en la OTAN. Con la llegada al poder de Víctor Yanukóvich en 2010, Ucrania buscó nuevamente el acercamiento a Rusia.
Cuatro años después Yanukóvich fue derrocado, lo que desencadenó la reunificación de la península de Crimea con Rusia y el surgimiento de un conflicto armado en el interior de Ucrania que no cesa hasta la fecha.
Las autoridades ucranianas en más de una ocasión acusaron a Rusia de estar inmiscuyéndose en los asuntos internos de su país.
Rusia rechaza esas acusaciones y las califica de inaceptables. Moscú declaró en repetidas ocasiones que Rusia no es parte del conflicto interno ucraniano y está interesada en que Kiev supere la crisis política y económica.
