La violencia entre alumnos ocupa un papel dominante en la educación de los jóvenes de todo el mundo, y repercute en el aprendizaje y el bienestar de los estudiantes tanto de países ricos como pobres.
Uno de los principales desafíos que enfrentan las autoridades del sistema educativo de la República Dominicana, es la violencia que se registra en las escuelas, sobre todo en las ubicadas en las zonas urbanas
En noviembre de 2021 un estudiante de 15 años le propinó más de 20 puñaladas a otra alumna en el baño de un centro educativo del nivel medio en Bonao, provincia Monseñor Nouel.
El pasado 11 de octubre un estudiante hirió a cinco compañeros de varias estocadas, en la escuela Aura Violeta Forestieri del distrito municipal de San Luis en Santo Domingo Este.
Uno de los echos de violencia más recientes fue el pasado 15 del mes de noviembre cuando un estudiante de 16 años hirió de una puñalada a un compañero, en un hecho ocurrido en el Liceo Emma Ramona Sánchez Ramírez, del municipio de Villa Hermosa, provincia La Romana por alegadas diferencias que tenían por supustamente estar enamorados ambos de una estudiante del centro.
Recientemente, más de 40 personas entre profesores y alumnos, resultaron afectadas en un liceo del municipio Polo, provincia Barahona, tras inhalar un producto químico que habría sido lanzado por dos estudiantes del plantel educativo.
A la luz de los hechos violentos desatados en los centros educativos, de un país donde impera la sobre población escolar. Ojalá las autoridades educativas no se demoren en aliviar los quebrantos que aquejan el sistema.

Today, I went to the beachfront with my kids. I found a sea shell and gave it
to my 4 year old daughter and said «You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.» She put the shell to her ear and screamed.
There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.
