El servicio de bomberos de Corea del Sur informó este jueves sobre un incendio de grandes proporciones acaecido en un túnel de la autopista Gwacheon, con un saldo preliminar de cinco personas fallecidas y otras 37 heridas, tres de ella de gravedad.
Según reportan medios locales, el siniestro se originó como consecuencia de la colisión entre un autobús y un camión en una autopista que conecta la ciudad portuaria de Incheon con la de Seongnam.
Los equipos de rescate hallaron cinco víctimas mortales en el interior de uno de los vehículos siniestrados, incluidos los conductores protagonistas de la colisión y testigos alegan que las llamas se propagaron rápidamente por el lugar del hecho, creando grandes masas de humo.
Las autoridades afirman que el número de víctimas podría aumentar, en dependencia del resultado de las labores de rescate, en las que participan helicópteros, cerca de 94 camiones cisterna y 219 bomberos para controlar el incendio.
