«Aparecerá pronto en público», señaló a su vez este domingo el portavoz adjunto Bilal Karimi.
El nombre de Akhundzada empezó a escucharse en mayo de 2016, cuando sustituyó al frente de los talibanes al mulá Mansur, que murió en un ataque estadounidense con drones en Pakistán
Su primer objetivo era unir al movimiento fundamentalista, dividido por las luchas internas y el descubrimiento de que se había ocultado la muerte de su fundador, el mulá Omar, durante años.
Hibatullah Akhundzada, solo se manifiesta durante las fiestas islámicas. Para muchos analistas, su rol es más simbólico que operativo.
